The Infini Difference in Microneedling

shutterstock 1461819455 Microneedling has become a popular cosmetic treatment in recent years. Not only is it safe and effective, but it is also pretty conservative as far as professional beauty procedures go. Microneedling is loved for its results as well as its gentleness and minimal downtime. As it is, microneedling has powerful effects on the skin repair process. And yet, device manufacturers have a knack for taking something great and making it fabulous. Here, we discuss the differences between traditional microneedling, which we offer, and Infini RF microneedling, also a leading service at Lux Skin & Lasers.

Microneedling

Microneedling treatments are performed using an automated device with a multi-needle tip. These tiny needles puncture the upper layer of the skin, triggering a natural healing response. When the skin is injured, the body delivers collagen to the area to repair tissue. Collagen is also the protein that supports tissue thickness and firmness.

The primary benefits of microneedling are:

  • More even skin tone
  • Reduced pore size
  • Improved skin texture
  • Reduced scars, including acne scarring

There is no downtime after microneedling treatment and, because there is no thermal energy involved, the procedure is safe for all skin types. The benefits of microneedling begin to appear right away and can continue for up to six weeks. For more profound tissue remodeling, microneedling treatments can be scheduled every four to six weeks for a period of time.

Infini RF Microneedling

The Infinie RF microneedling procedure utilizes the same mechanism to puncture the skin as traditional microneedling. The difference between the two treatments is that the automated, needle-clad applicator is also powered with radiofrequency energy. During an Infini treatment, the needles don’t just puncture the superficial layer of skin, they also deliver radiofrequency into this layer. Radiofrequency transfers to tissue as thermal energy. The heating of the deeper tissue causes tightening and more profound remodeling via collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid production.

Benefits of Infini RF microneedling include:

  • Reduction of cellulite
  • Reduced hyperpigmentation and sun damage
  • Reduced pore size
  • Correction of scars and stretch marks
  • Reduced fine lines and wrinkles

Infini treatments work over time and may achieve optimal results through a series of three to four sessions. These are scheduled about six weeks apart. The results of treatment can last a year or more. People who follow their recommended skin care program after Infini may enjoy prolonged benefits from their treatment.
